Haunted Love

Okay, so... this is a song I made a few years ago. It was actually the first song made for Frozen Upside-Down Mocking Bird. But I just forgot to include it when I was working on the song order. So I uploaded it to the Meat Force Myspace (hey guys, remember Myspace?) where it sat for a while. Just languished. Then I decided to use it as the first song for a new album I was slowly working on. Well, now I've got about 8 other songs, maybe, and listening to them I realized... this song just doesn't fit at all. So I'm cutting it. But I did trim a bit in the middle and make this slightly shorter version, so I figured I'd just slap it up here and finally put it to rest.
For the curious, artists remixed into this song are Goldfrapp (I was on a big Goldfrapp kick when I made it), Animal Collective, and Kammerflimmer Kollektief. 


Does that make me cool now?

I paired this beat with this little piano bit, and threw some tape tone on top. I have been listening to it over and over for days, not knowing what to do with it. Everything I try to add just makes it less great. Here it is presented with a little clip on top, and some wind sounds.

Bad Taste Music Exchange

So I was reading the internet, as I often do, and found this fella doing tutorials on data bending. It was pretty interesting stuff. Then he gets to the wav files and turns out he did a pretty nifty album of this stuff circa 1999.

Well, I figured I'd ought to show you fine folks.

I haven't perused the rest of the blog yet, but it might be of interest, too. Looks like there is a swell "radio" program, and some albums, and some live shows. All sorts of things that are just up your alley! Presumably.

Is this actually Bass Off? Or would this be the Okay By Average Drummer band? I don't know, we're pretty shit by average, actually.

This was done years back. I was trying to figure out a drum track for a song. Of course, I didn't own any drums, so I figured I'd just wail on whatever I had around. Well, my roommate came in, to find out what I was doing and he decided to join in. This is what came of that.

It's, like, just over forty minutes long, by the way. You might want to download it.

Honestly? I'd love to do a contest with this. Well, not even a contest. Just an event. Of remixes. Everybody remix this into some sweet beats or... into whatever. But I don't have enough regular readers (that I know about) for that. Still, if anybody DOES remix this, send it along!

Merry April Fool's Day. I don't have anything to trick you with because, seriously, who cares?

Um, but, I made this thing. With an iPad. While I was half asleep. It is really easy to drone out when a beat is happening, and next thing you know it is an hour later and you have been listening to basically the same three second clip over and over and over and over...

But sometimes that's just fun.
